I used to be a jack of all trades and master of most of them. Now that I am in an autumnal stage of my life, I am trying to become a master of a select trade i.e., a Professional Investigator. Having said that, a professional Investigator needs quite a few skills to even function at an elementary stage. Computer skills and tech savviness are crucial just to work at a computer desk for the art and science of OSINT (open source intelligence gathering). Becoming a computer fraud or tackling cyber crime I will have to become a geek with additional training and attend expensive courses. Personally, I am interested in fraud detection. As most fraud activity is related to money matters, financial fraud detection involves some knowledge, if not a lot, of the use of Excel. Yet another hoop to jump.
All said and done, my new career as a Private Investigator or to put it poshly, a Professional Investigator, is gaining momentum with the addition of several feathers to my hat of training and I feel more confident.
I will continue to keep posting here on my progress.
